My Neighbor in Need
"My Neighbor in Need" is simply a group of caring individuals and volunteers from the community who wish to try and help their neighbor in need. The operational start-up costs were provided by a generous sponsorship from St. Vincent de Paul of Prairie du Sac.
St. Vincent de Paul, along with a group of dedicated business professionals and caring volunteers, got together and put this program in motion under the guidance and support of Great Falls, Montana founder, Dave Snuggs.
We would encourage you to check out their website for more information and weekly updates on the program.
"We provide a nurturing, dignified way to connect individuals who have a specific need with those who wish to fulfill that need."
My Neighbor in Need currently serves the greater Sauk Prairie Area and surrounding communities. Any person in these areas can request a need for themselves or for someone they know living in:
- Black Hawk
- Prairie du Sac
- Sauk City
- Spring Green
This system is a free service and is available to anyone in the community who is low income and has a need and/or anyone who wishes to help their neighbor by fulfilling a need.
Approved Need Request categories are: food, clothing, furniture, household items, transportation (bus passes), and limited plumbing. Other need requests are also considered on a case-by-case basis.
Visit their website for more information.
